CO2 and Diode Lasers vs. Conventional Surgery in the Disinclusion of Palatally Impacted Canines: A Randomized Controlled Trial

Background: The aim of this RCT is to show the effectiveness laser technology for exposure palatally impacted canines, using a CO2 or diode laser, and evaluate possible bio-stimulation effect on spontaneous eruption canine. Methods: This study was carried out sample 27 patients, divided randomly into three groups: treated with (Group A), B), cold blade C). Monitoring performed at 1, 8, 16 weeks after surgery, through photo digital scans CS3500 intraoral scanner. Results: It found that average total eruptions are 4.55 mm Group A, 5.36 B, 3.01 C. difference in between groups A B not significant. Comparing control group, it has emerged statistically Conclusion: significant tooth movement observed both Groups B. response canine can be considered effective, resulting group. Both lasers have same bio-stimulatory action canines.
